"Give me the helpless, the lost, the homeless wee ones struggling just to live, the innocent refuse of an uncaring land. Send these, the weak abandoned lives to me - I offer warmth, care, hope and love." ~ The Pledge of a Rescue Worker ~
The Animals' Savior: I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter - the cast-offs of human society. I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal. And I was angry. "God," I said, "This is terrible! Why don't You do something?" God was silent for a moment, and then He spoke softly. "I have done something," He replied. "I created you." ~ Jim Willis, Copyright © 1999

Our Motto:

P&PI is a small non-profit 501(c)(3) organization of Louisiana, USA. We consist of concerned and dedicated volunteers, many who rescue and/or foster cats and dogs, maintain colonies of feral cats, care for special needs cats and dogs, and promote proactive animal awareness. We offer information and education regarding humane treatment of all animals. Our Mission Statement states our purpose and goal.
You will find various animal concerns and issues along with much non-animal related material. Besides our animal awareness and well-being articles, we offer cat memorials, Christmas, humor, Louisiana heritage, Louisiana women, and many more interests. Enjoy your visit!
We love our cats
And love our dogs
This is their home
It is our hope
They'll never roam
Our faithful friends
They are the best
This is THEIR home
YOU are the guest
If to you
They are a peeve
Then by all means
Feel free to leave.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.
~ Abraham Lincoln~

A Rescuer's Creed
I shall be a believer of all that is good in man and of all that is deserving in animals.
I shall plead for their lives, campaign for their safety and uphold their right to a natural death.
I shall seek out the injured and the maimed, the unloved, and the abandoned and tend to them in their last days.
I shall not forget their place in the hierarchy of life, nor that we walk in each other's paths.
I shall bear witness to the wonder they bring into our lives and to the beauty they bestow upon our souls.
I shall renew their spirits when they are waning, bind their wounds when they bleed, cradle them when they whimper, and comfort them when they mourn.
I shall be near them in their hour of greatest need - a companion and friend when the time has come.
I shall watch over them and console them and ask that the angels gather them in their arms.
From the creatures of the earth I shall learn the fruits of compassion and undying love, and I shall be called the beloved of God. In their company I shall indeed be blessed. Author: Susan M. Pearson
