2001 - Egads, Suse is 50!!! ~ Pawprints and Purrs

Ah ...... middle age. I for one am loving it and am going to milk it for all its worth .... and now a few thoughts.

Middle age is when the instructions on the pain reliever bottle say take 2 every four hours but it occurs to you that it might be better to take 4 every 2 hours.
You give up worrying about whether your clothes are stylish. You’re just glad you have something that matches and is reasonably clean.
You no longer worry about keeping up with the Joneses. They’re strange anyway. Probably damn communists or something.
You bend over to tie your shoes and hear a god-awful crack. It takes you a minute to realize "Aw crap, was that my knee?"
The clutter in your house has at last become part of your "decor". You don’t have to worry about cleaning it, it will ruin the ambience it took you so long to create.
Every occasion, no matter how small, is a good excuse to go out for pie.
You have earned the right to say "I told you so" and "When I was your age" to your kids, grandkids and anyone else you’re around. Heck, even total strangers.
Searching for your keys, remote control, purse, teeth (hehe, sneaked that one in on you) becomes one of your most time consuming rituals each day.
You can remember what first grade was like but not what happened last week. Or when your doctor's appointment is. Or whether you took your vitamins today.
Hot flashes are a good excuse to set your thermostat as low as it will go and dare anyone to touch it.

OK ... well, those are all ruminations and purely the opinions of this one "middle aged" lady. tee hee
