"There are only two powers in the world - the power of the sword and the power of the spirit. In the long run, the sword will always be conquered by the spirit." ~ Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of France
Craig and I express our heartfelt sympathies and prayers for the families and friends of the many, many victims who are injured, missing or have lost their lives in this terrorism holocaust - New York, Washington DC, and PLEASE, don't forget the ones who officials believe valiantly fought their hijackers as they flew to their deaths over Pennsylvania's countryside.
Though there are many assistance programs for humans, few are for pets. Please, send donations for the animals who are affected by the terrorism attack.
Following the animal and people assistance information are event timetables, photos, and articles regarding the act of war on America and her Allies.
How You Can Assist Orphaned Animals
Thousands of companion animals have lost their guardians due to the attacks. Victims who survived or lost their lives in New York City, Washington DC, and aboard all four hijacked aircraft, including the one that crashed in the countryside of Pennsylvania, included eighty-eight different nationalities: Antigua, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Barbados, Barbuda, Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Ethiopia, France, Gambia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Grenada, Grenadines, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Lebanon, Liberia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Nevis, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sri Lanka, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Tobago, Togo, Trinidad, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States of America, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Yemen, Yugoslavia, and Zimbabwe. And in the meantime, the pets are homeless. Many people simply haven't considered the animal toll.
PLEASE NOTE: Many organizations in New York have asked that no more supplies and equipment donations be made because they have run out of warehouse space. They need financial contributions at this time.
Rescue Resources for Animals Orphaned in WTC Attack:
AnimalAid is a relief program for companion animals of the September 11 terrorist victims. In the wake of the horrible terrorist attacks which struck our nation, United Animal Nations has established the AnimalAid program to provide relief for any animals who were orphaned or otherwise affected by the tragedies in New York City, Washington, DC and Pennsylvania.
AnimalAid can provide foster care or adoption placement, transportation, and financial assistance (up to $500 per applicant) for animal needs such as veterinary care, boarding arrangements, medication or animal food. Animals whose caregivers were killed or injured by the attacks, animals who were themselves injured or affected by the attacks, or animals involved in the search and rescue efforts qualify for the program. Assistance is available through March 11, 2002.

America's Blood Centers wants you to know:
People can donate blood once every 56 days.
Even if you've never donated before, it is especially important during the winter, when illness or winter weather delay regular donors.
When winter storms strike (when blood supplies are often used rapidly), you should donate blood as soon as it is safe to drive to your local blood bank.
If weather or illness prevents you from donating today, call your blood bank to reschedule an appointment.
Or, if you TRULY want to help those affected by the attacks, send money to the various victim relief funds that will go the rescue workers and/or families of those injured or killed.
