"It is worthwhile to take pains to make children kind to animals, to treat the cat and dog kindly, allow no teasing or harshness. If they behave properly to animals, they are more likely to behave rightly to their brothers and sisters."
~ The Old Farmer's Almanac (1882)
More than 10 million animals are abused, neglected or abandoned each year. Each click provides food for an animal in a shelter or sanctuary at no cost to you.

This site is dedicated to all the animals who, like Ninja, still wait for justice and change.
"One of the most dangerous things that can happen to a child is to kill or torture an animal and get away with it."
~Margaret Mead, Anthropologist
The Remember Ninja Project returns to the web following a long hiatus. The look may be different, but the message is the same:
children torturing and killing animals is not "kids being kids," but a serious sign of psychological and emotional problems.
This message is a vitally important one all year, but most especially during the month of October, when shelters and law enforcement agencies across America report sharp increases in animal cruelty associated with Halloween "pranks."
Together, we can make a difference by educating people - parents in particular - that animal cruelty is a dangerous sign and an early indicator of a future propensity for violence against other children, adults and society.
